Hao Yun (郝云) Concert

While walking through the store, I noticed the music they were playing was very nice. We found out it was the new album of Hao Yun (郝云), and moreover, he was coming for a promotion concert that same afternoon! We immediately bought the album to have it autographed later :-)

DVDs in China

As anyone knows, DVDs are dirt-cheap in China (as they should be) While inspecting the back of the sleeve for the movie After Shock I noticed some incorrect information though… Can you spot it?

Climbing a Mountain

Last weekend we went out with some family and friends to climb a mountain and stay at a farm. Now, I’m sure Bailixia used to be a farming town, and there used to be a farm house on the place where we stayed, but today it’s more of a party-town and the place where we stayed is more of a countryside hotel.

Taking a hike

Last week, because of the dragon-boat festival, we went out of Beijing with the family to catch some fresh air. After getting up early in the morning, we took an approx. hour and a half drive into the countryside south north of Beijing, where we met up with some more relatives and friends. After navigating narrow

It has been a while.

Our new life in China is slowly taking shape. Since the last post we have moved to our own apartment, Yuan has started her new job and we are slowly starting to get used to the daily routine. Our new apartment is located in Tongzhou, a new district of Beijing (since 1997), with close to 900,000

Yesterday we lighted the fire in our new place

Yesterday we lighted the fire in our new place (cooked for the first time) In the afternoon we took the bus and metro to our new place, moved a few things, and found out I’m still missing some important things, which are probably in the mail from Germany to China. Apparently I didn’t pay close enough

Staying at home

Today I’m spending the day at home (well, my parents-in-law’s place, where we are staying until we move to our own place) recovering from a serious cold which i contracted somewhere last week. Last Saturday I already felt a but dizzy, and yesterday i developed a mild fever. Today it’s getting better, so no need to worry! I guess it’s because of

Communication University

Today we’ve been to the Communication University of China and the Beijing 2nd Language University to have a look around and get some information about my Chinese course later. It was a nice and warm day (about 28 degrees) that brought us by bus and metro to the university campus in about an hour from my

Online

I still have some fine-tuning to do, but I now have access to the whole internet from China ^_^ Albeit slow, but that probably has more to do with the fact that I’m using wireless on a slow connection.Posted from Beijing, Beijing, China.

I’m going to sleep after a very long dayPosted from Beijing, Beijing, China.
